The ending to the 80s movie cartoon Transformers the Movie, this is a great ending scene! Hot Rod opens up a flickering ball, 80s music comes on, and Unicron rips off his own leg and explodes…

I think they really used the lightsaber opening sound to the opening of the matrix.

That was one of the best scenes in that movie.

Megatron was a LOT bigger. He could just step on Skeletor.

    Stan Bush – the touch
possibly the greatest music in a movie EVER!

I do not think they used much computer animation or CG back in ‘86, when i am pretty sure this movie came out…

ending was decent, although I find the line “age of peace and happiness” is a lit bit too cheesy for my liking. Peace is still alright, but happiness? Freedom would have been more epic imho.

Its very suprising that no computer animation was used in this. In the dvd commentary it was said that it was all done by hand. WOW!!! It must have taken a lot of time and great artists to make this!!!

True, and Disney wasn’t exactly making spectacular animated films at the time
    themselves. 2D Animation rules.

Man this movie should have gotten bettet critical reception. It seemed like at the time that if it wasnt made by disney critics hate it. Princess and the goblin, and this movie are good examples. Critics dont know what their missing.

It was great in theaters, though i love watching it on dvd, nothing compares to sitting in theaters with other people your age(i was a kid back then) and hearing cries of sadness(kids) and shock(parents) when Optimus died.
