You know what they say: “Boys will be boys.” It’s true no matter what age they are. So gift-giving follows the same line of thought. All you have to do is add a little more action, danger and “wow” factor, and the toys of their youth are transformed into the must-haves of men in their twenties.

Depending on your budget, there are plenty of sure-to-please gift choices. If you have a big budget or are spending for that 20-something man closest to you, you can’t go wrong with the latest gaming system. Do a little homework and pay attention to your recipient’s reaction to gaming system commercials and reviews to determine his console of choice. For instance, many gamers prefer the PS2 to the newer PS3, which is good news for your pocketbook. The Nintendo Wii is so popular that it’s hard to find, unless you plan to spend lots to get in instantly on eBay. Microsoft has come out with a new version of its XBOX, the 360, and it has even more bells and whistles. Does he already have a game console? Lucky you. Just pick up the hottest compatible game or peripheral to make his day.

Guys are also still excited by any radio-controlled vehicle in their twenties and beyond. There are plenty of models to choose from – cars, helicopters, planes and hovercrafts – the options are almost endless. The price range is equally varied; you can basically spend as much or as little as you want. Remember to include the batteries in your gift box – he’ll want to play right away.

Looking for another option? Lots of twenty- to thirty-year olds like toys of a little more grown-up and sophisticated persuasion. Grown men can get just as excited over grilling accessories, sports equipment and handheld electronics. Hot items in each category include smoker boxes, the latest driver for the golf nut, or a handheld GPS navigation system. Other options include fire pits, chipping mats and MP3 players. Still at a loss? As a last resort, try a gift card to any sporting goods or electronics store. He’ll know what he wants. If it’s something you can set on fire, use in competition with other men, or plug in to, men in their twenties are sure to love it.
